Krabi Walking Street
A weekend night market on Maharat Soi 8 in Krabi Town, running since 2009, with a stage, a food court of plastic stools and no admission anyone can point to.

What we checked, 18 September 2026
Checked on 18 September 2026. The same government record contradicts itself on closing time, giving 22:00 in its prose and 21:00 in its structured per-day fields, so both are reported here. OpenStreetMap independently says 22:00. The municipality that runs the market blocks automated requests, so nothing here comes from it directly. We have not been.
Verified via. The Department of Internal Trade's market record gives the address as Soi 8, Maharat Road, Pak Nam, Mueang Krabi, names Krabi Province, Krabi Town Municipality, the provincial commerce office and the chamber of commerce as the founding bodies, dates the opening to 20 March 2009, and states Friday to Sunday from 17:00. OpenStreetMap records the market at 8.0642, 98.9164 with hours of Friday to Sunday 17:00-22:00.
Admission
There is no ticket and nobody has ever reported paying to walk in. The one government record that carries an admission field, the Department of Internal Trade's market listing, marks the site as chargeable and then leaves every rate row blank, which is a template artefact rather than a price. Krabi Town Municipality's own pages refuse automated requests, so we cannot settle it. Bring cash for the stalls.
Krabi Walking Street runs down Maharat Soi 8 in the middle of Krabi Town on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. It opened in March 2009, set up jointly by the province, the town municipality, the provincial commerce office and the chamber of commerce, which is why it feels more organised than the average Thai night market and less improvised than the one in your head.
What time it actually closes. The government record that describes it says 17:00 to 22:00 in its prose and 17:00 to 21:00 in the structured fields on the same page. OpenStreetMap says 22:00. Go at seven and you are inside every version of the truth.
What it is good for. Cooked food eaten at shared tables in the middle of the street, which is the format worth having, plus a stage at one end that is usually in use. It is a town market rather than a tourist market, which shows in the prices and in the proportion of Thai families eating there.
The one odd thing in the record. The Department of Internal Trade’s listing has an admission field, and it is ticked as chargeable with every actual rate left blank. We read that as a template field nobody filled in rather than a hidden entry fee, and we mention it because our rule is to tell you what the sources say, including when what they say is strange.
What we have not done. Been.
