A day trip to Ayutthaya
The old Siamese capital about 67km north of the Grand Palace, sacked in 1767 and now a UNESCO World Heritage site, sold as a day trip by half of Bangkok.

Eleven Ayutthaya day trips appeared in Klook's Bangkok search results on 18 September 2026. The two listed here clear our bar of 9.0 out of 10 and 50 reviews with a deep sample behind them, and both figures were re-read on each trip's own page. Several others show 5.0 from six to twelve reviews, which is not evidence of anything. No price is published here, for the reason given below. We have not done this trip.
Verified via. Ayutthaya Historical Park is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list and is mapped on OpenStreetMap at 14.3535, 100.5623. Both operators below were read off their own Klook listing pages on 18 September 2026, where the score and review count come from the page's own structured data rather than a search summary.

Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam for four centuries until the Burmese sacked it in 1767. What is left is a large historical park of brick prangs, headless Buddhas and a few temples still in use, about 67km north of the Grand Palace in a straight line. It is the standard day trip out of Bangkok, and it deserves the status.
The two operators above, and what separates them. Both score 4.8 out of 5, which is 9.6 on our ten-point scale, and both carry a sample deep enough to mean something: 8,769 reviews on one, 3,411 on the other. The first adds Bang Pa-In, the summer palace, and a floating market to the temple stops, which is a longer day with more in it. The second stays on the temples. Neither is a small-group experience at those volumes, so expect a coach and a schedule.
Why there is no price on this page. Klook quotes in US dollars, its structured data has disagreed with its own visible prices in our previous checks, and most of these trips sell several packages at different rates. Publishing a single “from” figure you would not see when you clicked through is a small lie of the sort this site exists to avoid. Open the listing and read the price on the day you are buying.
What we could not verify. Whether temple admissions inside the park are included in a given package, which the operators state case by case and which is the thing most likely to surprise you at the gate. Ask before booking.
The alternative nobody sells you. Ayutthaya has a railway station, and ordinary trains run there from Bangkok for very little. If a guided coach is not your idea of a day out, the independent version exists, and a hired bicycle at the other end covers the park perfectly well. We have not done either, which is precisely why this page stops at what the platforms can prove.
