Every sub-score here is 9.2 or above, and that consistency is the point. Staff 9.9, cleanliness 9.7, wifi 9.8, facilities 9.6, and nothing on the board that reads as a weakness. Even value for money, which usually softens at the top of the market, holds at 9.2, which is the number that separates this from most five-stars we have looked at.

It is a five-star resort on its own bay at Choeng Mon, with two pools, a spa, a gym and a beachfront, at around ฿9,199 a night for the dates we checked. That makes it the second most expensive property we list on Samui, behind Banyan Tree at Lamai, which is roughly twice the price and scores 8.8 on value against this 9.2.

The one thing to weigh is the gap between platforms. Booking.com scores it 9.5, Agoda 9.2, and Agoda has twice the reviews. Three tenths sits within our tolerance, but it is among the wider gaps in our Samui set, and the lower number comes from the larger sample.

Garrya’s distinction is evenness rather than a single peak, and that is a narrower thing than being best on the island. Phannarai House at Lamai averages higher across platforms and costs about an eighth as much. What you are paying for here is a private bay and a resort, not a better guest rating.
