Two numbers carry this listing. Staff scores 9.8 and location 9.7, from a three-star. Nothing on the island beats that location score, Hansar and Phannarai House match it and no one exceeds it. On staff, only Garrya and SALA at 9.9 and Phannarai at a flat 10 are ahead, and all three are a different proposition entirely.
The location figure makes sense once you see where it is. Riviera sits on the beach in Fisherman’s Village, the strip of converted shophouses that gives Bophut its restaurants and bars. You are not driving anywhere for dinner.
It is a three-star, and the facilities list is honest about that: no pool, no gym, no spa. What you get is a beachfront position, an airport shuttle and housekeeping. At around ฿3,650 a night you are paying for the address rather than the amenities, and value for money at 9.1 suggests guests think that is a fair deal.
Cleanliness and comfort both at 9.5 are unusually high for the star rating. Wifi at 8.8 is the softest number and still perfectly serviceable.
