The number that stands out here is the price. At around ฿1,766 a night for a four-star sitting directly on Lamai Beach, only Phannarai House costs less anywhere in Lamai, and Phannarai is a guesthouse up the hill with no beach at all.
The guest scores back it up. Cleanliness, comfort and staff all sit at 9.4, and the facilities list is longer than the price suggests: a pool, a spa with a hot tub, a gym, and bicycle hire. Value for money scores 8.7, which is where you would expect it to for the money.
Location is the softest number at 8.1. Lamai is the quieter of the two main beaches, fifteen minutes south of Chaweng, and that trade-off cuts both ways. If you want the bars, this is the wrong beach. If you want a beach you can actually hear the sea on, it is the right one.
